As of 8:00 p.m. on December 15, 2024, data from the Maoyan app (Professional Edition) revealed that the New Year box office had already reached nearly RMB 1.4 billion. In support of this thriving market, Jiangsu Film Group announced a provincial initiative to promote film consumption from December 15, 2024, to January 15, 2025, with a special allocation of RMB 10 million in film consumption coupons.
During this promotion period, audiences in Jiangsu can enjoy a RMB 20 discount on film tickets priced at RMB 30 or above. The coupons can be redeemed via Maoyan, Meituan, WeChat, and Dianping mini-programs. A limited number of coupons will be released daily at midnight on a first-come, first-served basis. Each user is eligible for the discount once throughout the campaign.
In addition to the general coupons, personalized film consumption coupons will be issued through shopping platforms, tailored to users' preferences based on their profiles. These coupons can be obtained directly via app homepages or through engaging features like “Lucky Red Envelope” and “Flash Red Envelope.” Notably, these coupons can be combined with other discounts offered by third-party platforms or film distributors.
Jiangsu Film Group hopes this initiative will energize the local film market, encouraging greater audience participation while delivering tangible benefits to filmgoers.
