Benecke Changshun Eco Trim (Changzhou) Co., Ltd. celebrated the opening of its expansive Phase III facility on October 22, with Deputy Mayor Xu Jun attending the ceremony. The new plant is set to bolster the company’s production of eco-friendly automotive interiors as demand from premium automakers continues to rise.

Benecke Changshun, a joint venture between Continental’s ContiTech division and Jiangsu Changshun Group, supplies sustainable interior materials to automotive giants, including BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Tesla, and Li Auto. In response to rapid business growth, company headquarters approved significant investment for expansion at the Wujin National High-tech Industrial Development Zone.

The Phase III expansion adds a 15,000-square-meter facility, increasing annual production capacity by 13 million square meters, with output expected to reach 35 million square meters per year. This growth is projected to fuel strong momentum and open new avenues for the company.

Aligning with sustainability and digital innovation goals, the new facility employs advanced energy-efficient and emissions-reducing technologies, such as rooftop solar panels, state-of-the-art exhaust treatment, innovative heating solutions, automated defect detection, and automated guided vehicles (AGVs). The plant has achieved LEED Gold certification, one of the world’s most recognized standards for green building. Benecke Changshun aims to reach full carbon neutrality in its production processes by 2030, underscoring its commitment to a sustainable future for automotive manufacturing.
