On January 9, Changzhou marked a significant milestone for the new year with the virtual signing of a foreign investment project. The high-precision bearing project, led by INTERPRECISE Donath GmbH, will be located at the Sino-German (Changzhou) Innovation Industry Park (SGIP) in the Jintan Economic Development Zone. This project not only represents Changzhou’s first foreign investment of 2025 but also signifies the 67th company from German-speaking countries to establish operations within the park.
Headquartered in Bavaria, Germany, INTERPRECISE Donath is set to invest $30 million in the project. It will focus on producing a variety of bearings, including cylindrical roller bearings, needle bearings, and roller bearings, which are widely used in industries such as machine tools, robotics, hydraulic pumps and motors, textiles, mining, and printing. Once fully operational, the facility is expected to generate an annual output of 120 million yuan and create 150 new jobs.
In recent years, SGIP has become a key hub for fostering economic ties with German-speaking countries (Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and other regions where German is spoken). Jintan has emerged as a prime destination for small and medium-sized German enterprises looking to expand their operations in China. Local officials in Jintan have expressed their commitment to supporting the project’s success, with promises of practical policies, a high-quality business environment, and attentive services to ensure the swift completion and operational success of the new venture.
